Being the daughter of Lucifer keeps seventeen year old Dawn Belial busy. For almost her entire lifetime, she has been trying to think of a way to free her Archangel mother, Michaela, whom her father has held captive for centuries. She's also attending high school - balancing trigonometry, history, and recruiting souls for her father along with her wicked half-sister, Venus.

There has been no time for love until she meets mysterious Gabriel, a British exchange student. As they fall in love against their will, she discovers a startling secret about him, and a shocking connection to her mother that changes everything.
Tania Penn
Author of debut young adult novel, The Morning Star. Currently working on the sequel, Equinox, as well as a chick-lit, rom-com, slightly sleazy and funny story with a twist, Catching Frogs. And, because I'm loco in the roco, I've got about 12 more on the back burner. When I'm not writing I can be found kayaking, hiking, ninja-training, traveling, and taking a ferry over to the San Juan Islands to search for the elusive creature known as the "Orca." I also am constantly adding ridiculous wants, needs, must-see's and do's to my ever expanding bucket book.

I covet a delicious malbec with a rare steak and make a killer salsa.

Today I'm super excited to have the opportunity to share with you an interview of our protagonist, Dawn! Sit tight, and enjoy!

1) Hi there, Dawn! Let's begin with an easy introduction. How would you describe yourself?
I’m easy going but have a bit of a fiery temper (ha!) I’m a little bit naughty and a little bit nice, and am constantly battling my inner demons. (I had to go there.) I’m in love with a hot angel! (Oh.) I’m loyal to a fault. I’m full of puns. Physically, I’m medium height, thin build, blonde and blue-green eyed.
2) If you weren't who you currently are, who would you want to be, and where?
Oh most definitely I would want to be a professional surfer! I miss it. I used to surf almost every day when we lived in Hawaii. The beach bum lifestyle is totally for me, because, I really don’t like having to do what my dad wants me to do after all. I love my dad, but - as you know he has some issues! I also wish I knew how to paint. I can restore paintings like nobody’s business, but the act of creating on canvas unfortunately escapes me.
3) What's the best and worst thing about being who you are?
Well, I’m immortal for one, so that’s pretty awesome. And I have cool powers and discover new ones - by accident, but still, how many people can say they have healing powers? Which in my case, is also the worst thing about me, because that can really get me into trouble! My dad hasn’t found out about that - yet. I guess in a way I’m royalty, since my father is considered to be the Dark Lord or Dark Prince or whatever humankind likes to refer to him as. Dawn, Princess of Darkness, yup that’s me!
4) You mentioned that you moved around a lot due to the nature of your . . . business. Where do you think is the favourite place you lived?
Most definitely Hawaii, the big island. I miss the smell of the sea, the ruggedness of the landscape, the laid back lifestyle. And I was born there, so I have a natural pull to being there! One day, if I am to still live on earth and not above, I would love Gabriel and I to have a little place on the beach there.
5) You said that you loved the sixties because of the clothing, hair, and music. Was there another time period that you especially enjoyed?
The Middle Ages were interesting, to say the least! It was a stretch of time that lasted quite a while. Life was simpler, but violent. Dad was quite fond of the barbaric nature of humans back then, and for him, he collected quite a bit during that time. And the Vikings, boy some of them were HOT! Yeah my sister had a lot of fun with them ;) It was quite interesting to see the development of civility after that time.

I would say this moment now is my favorite, because it lead me to the love of my life, Gabriel.
6) What was the most terrifying job you ever had?
Well, nothing terrifies me (you know who my dad is, right?!) But I would have to say, being a high school student! How in the world do kids make it through their teen years nowadays? It’s crazy with all the clique’s and trying to keep up with the ever changing lingo and all the technology.
7) What was your first impression of Gabriel?
When I saw him on that catwalk at the rave, all I remember is that I couldn’t think straight. I felt this genuine invisible line binding us. I knew that somehow, he would be an important part of my life. It’s those lips, I tell you! I’m salivating just thinking about sinking my teeth into them ;)
9) Best and worst thing about acting as a teenage high school student?
I think the hardest thing, which would be the worst as well as the best, is making friends, genuine connections with certain people, and knowing what their future holds. Some of it really saddens me, but I don’t have the authority to intervene, unfortunately. You saw when that happened once! I shouldn’t get so attached, but this is the first time in centuries I have felt like I belong and want to make a difference in someone’s life. They are so young and starting out, potentially with bright futures ahead of them, the world is their canvas, and to know that some will not fulfill that potential…It just hurts when they leave their human vessel and see us for the first time, the shock in their eyes when they realize who my sister and myself really are.

Well, thank you to our own Princess of Darkness for the absolutely fabulous company! See you 'round! *waves*
