Seventeen-year-old Alice Bonham's life feels out of control after she meets Jace. With his fondness for pink Chuck Taylors and New Wave hits aside, Jack's unlike anyone she's met.

Then she meets her brother, Peter. His eyes pierce through her and she can barely breathe when he's around. Even though he can't stand the sight of her, she's drawn to him.

But falling for two very different guys isn't even the worst of her problems. Jack and Peter are vampires, and Alice finds herself caught between love and her own blood . . .
My thoughts:
First, an explanation. 1/10 equals "I finished the book but really, really didn't like it." 0/10 means I couldn't even bring myself to finish it. Usually I try my best to finish a book even if it's terrible just to see what happens. Since I thought Amanda Hocking's Switched was very good, I immediately wanted to read My Blood Approves. Needless to say, I was quite disappointed. I think I only got as far as four chapters before vowing to never take the book out again. Alice's way of regarding the world around her is phony. The way everyone with two X chromosones treats Jack was very undesirable. I felt like the story-line didn't fuse and was made from cookie-cutters. (It reminded me a whole lot about Stephenie Meyer's Twilight.) I thought Amanda Hocking did a fantastic job on Switched, and will continue reading the rest of the trilogy, but I don't think I'd like to try reading My Blood Approves again. Someone else might like it, but it just wasn't for me.

Thank you so much for wanting to leave a comment! I read every single one of them, and respond to most of them!

I'm honoured that anyone would want to nominate me for an award, but I just don't have time for that anymore. This blog is award and tag free.
