Looking Back: 2012

This post will pretty much be a "Year in Review" post, speaking the details of what happened in this past year.

I write this in the last hours of 2012, so my Looking Forward post would be a tad late. Right now, it's precisely 7:45pm, and I still can't believe that 2012 is almost over!
How I'll always mess up on my dates for the first four months of the year.

Best of 2012: Part 3

There are just some books that I just can't express my love for enough. Genuinely, I loved all these books because they grabbed my heart and mind, wreaked havoc upon them, and left me wondering at how a book can do so much to me. There's just so many that I'd have to split them up into several different parts.

Like I mentioned yesterday, these are in no particular order.

Since today's the last day of 2012, this will be my final Best of 2012 post. Though there are many more books I'd love to name my best, these are the ones that stand out the most.

Best of 2012: Part 2

There are just some books that I just can't express my love for enough. Genuinely, I loved all these books because they grabbed my heart and mind, wreaked havoc upon them, and left me wondering at how a book can do so much to me. There's just so many that I'd have to split them up into several different parts.

Because I forgot to mention this yesterday, I'll just say it now. This is in no particular order, nor grouped into any category. So it's just a big jumble of a mess.

Stacking the Shelves (1)

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga's Reviews, is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!
For the week of December 23 ~ December 29

Cover Reveal/Giveaway: Sworn to Raise by Terah Edun

Title: Sworn to Raise
Author: Terah Edun
Expected Publication Date: March 15, 2013
Seventeen-year-old Ciardis has grown up in poverty, a cleaner in a small vale on the outskirts of the kingdom. But beneath her kingdom’s seemingly idyllic surface lies a hidden secret. Whispers of an inept crown Prince are growing ever louder—intensified by the five year anniversary of the soulbond initiations.

Amidst scandalous whispers, Ciardis finds herself chosen to train for the Companion’s Guild. She leaves her home and sets off on a personal journey to become a Court Companion. A position she’d never thought possible for a lowly servant to obtain, she must prove that she has the skills to attract a Patron.

But she must master those skills quickly. If the legends are true, only Ciardis can harness the power to raise a Prince in an Imperial Court sworn to bring him down.

This sensational series debut melds intricate storylines with remarkable characters and unforgettable magic. Sworn To Raise is ideal for fans of Kristin Cashore, Michelle Sagara, and Maria Snyder.
Can I just take a moment to say how much I love Kristin Cashore and Maria Snyder? The way they craft a world of fantasy and magic is just astounding. Am I excited for Sworn to Raise? Yes.

Cover Reveal: The Camp by Karice Bolton

Title: The Camp
Author:Karice Bolton
Expected Publication Date:TBA
Emma has always strove for perfection in her almost eighteen years of existence, but it has never been good enough. As she finds herself counting the days until she’s officially free from her parents’ reins, her stepfather hands her a plane ticket explaining that she must attend the Re-Boot Camp in the wilds of Alaska.

Once she lands in the middle of nowhere, she realizes the camp is nothing like she imagined, and she wants out immediately. That is until she meets Liam.

The camp is full of teens with dark pasts, but she finds herself drawn to Liam’s ability to see who she really is and who she wants to become. While Emma and Liam begin adjusting to a place neither want to be, frightening events begin to unfold. When people begin disappearing, it becomes apparent they can only trust one another as they fight for survival.
This sounds totally like a paranormal romance, but hey, I could be wrong. I'd love to see what else happens to Emma!
